Your Best Shot Spring 2014

Back in the winter we gave GetHiroshima readers a tall order. We asked people to submit a photo that would make people go Wow! when they turned the page to our two page spread in the inaugural edition of the GetHiroshima Magazine.

We got some nice submissions, but our editorial and design team were unanimous in declaring a nighttime shot of Kintai-kyo Bridge during cherry blossom season “your best shot”.

When we put out the call for reader submissions, we weren’t actually looking for something so “touristic”, but when it came down to it, Tori Maas’s photo of the winner of our best hanami spot poll was the one that looked best at the demanding B4 size, and fit well with our main seasonal feature. It is testimony to the quality of Tori’s shot, that, on opening the page, many readers asked how much we had paid to get a pro to take the shot for us! Thank you for submitting Tori.
