Do you see the scene in Hiroshima mirroring
what's going on in Tokyo or do you see it following
its own path?
Hiroshima has its own scene not following Tokyo culture. Jazz is quite
strong in Hiroshima and that proves that, I think.
You've played in Hiroshima and Fukuyama on
numerous occassions within the past few years - How
has the crowd response been towards your style of House Music?
In both places, the crowd's response to my music was really good! I enjoyed
both place very much.
Is there anyting you wish to see or do while you are in Hiroshima?
I visited Itsukushima Shrine once when I was a school boy on a school trip.
I'd like to visit there if I had a chance.
The times that you played in the Hiroshima area,
was there any food you tried that you liked? Is there
any food you wish to try this time?
Everyone talks about okonomiyaki for Hiroshima's signature food, and I tried
many different kinds. They were all good. If I could visit there in
winter, I'd like to try Oyster dote nabe too. I'll let Michael handle
what to eat next time!
What can we expect to hear in your set at TRIBAL
on April 16th?
I play tribal house music for a long time but these days there are new
sounds of tribal house. Hope you enjoy those.
Is there any thing new from Ko or FUTIC that fans
can look forward to in the near future?
My new mix CD KO:HEAR:ENCY assembly:03 is coming out on May 21st. You'll
hear a lot of new music on this, so check it out!
Do you see any new direction that dance music
(House, Techno, DnB, etc.) is going in clubs and
production?
Lately we hear revival of acid sound a lot, and also piano tunes as well.
It is well known that you have helped to promote
the dance scene in Japan with your unique style of
House music - Can you try to describe the "Ko Kimura
Style" for our readers?
My style is not imitation of NY or London I don't think, and it's got own
style. Basically my style is which you can only enjoy in clubs with own
groove, liveliness, and atmosphere. Hope you enjoy it.
Ko Kimura plays at TRIBAL at Cover Saturday April 16.
