Radha Vilas : Flavor of India

Radha-san and his wife have been selling boxed curries for people to make at home for years in Hiroshima, the popularity of their curries has prompted them to run a small shop in the town of Ushita (located only 5-10 minutes drive (or cycle) from the main Hiroshima station).

The shop opened in February 2009 where a Pizza and pasta shop used to be. It is nice to see that his shop in the center of Ushita is gaining in popularity and looks like it is here to stay.
He says he feels encouraged as many people seem to come back again and again after eating at Radha Villas.

There are a handful of good eateries we recommend in Ushita including Toraji Okonomiyaki and Danke Japanese home cooking, and Kanbyon Korean home cooking restaurant - it is wonderful to add Radha's high quality Indian dining to the list.

During our travels in India years ago, one of my favorite dishes originated from South India called a Dosa,a large crepe-like bread made from fermented beans and rice flour filled with potatoes, curries or sauces. I was very pleased to see that Radha is offering Dosas on his menu. He is originally from Madras and his curries and other dishes reflect the true fresh and hot spice blends of southern Indian dishes.
The lunch and dinner menus include 3 main curries as Radha-san explained that a large number of curry compromises the quality. At the moment, the featured curries are seafood, chicken and chickpea curry, but a khema curry may also be on offer soon.

For starters, Indian style tempura, bean and vegetable salad, spicy "Kachunba" salad and samosas- all around 500 yen.
Main dishes include: Spicy grilled shrimp, tandoori grilled chicken, shish kabob and grilled chicken sticks as well as Tandoori mix are on the dinner menu. There are also different types of rice dishes with nuts and beans mixed with spices.

All the dishes were delicious and the atmosphere is very relaxing and quite stylish, there is seating for around 30 people at one time.

Nicely presented and pleasant atmosphere because there was no one when I went there. It seems most of the interior is from the old restaurant. Curry was little different to what I eat in Indian restaurants, may be cooked with ready made Rada curry powder, which I can cook at home. Everything else was OK price was bit expensive for the quantity. Staff was good except the owner was irritating while eating.

We had heard a lot about this restaurant, which newly open in our area and I love Indian food as I was in India for three years in Delhi for Metro project .so I eagerly wanted to visit it.... I was surprised that there is no Indian taste, I mean which I taste in India .I also ask to owner about taste he is nice to talk he say he change for Japanese people and he was in Japan from long time so he know what Japanese people like ………….Its means it in not a real Indian flavor its near to Japanese curry.But dosa was good .Interior is good .

Radhavilas,a prototype of a south Indian restaurant in hiroshima.It is a place where you get a trendy food with warmth.When I say trendy,I mean that the food is of south india but the way it is prepared is very unique.As a result,it meets the standards of a healthy,tasty and quality dish.I love this place for its delicious dosas.That said,there are a plenty of other dishes that are mouth-watering and delicious.Before signing off I would like to conclude by saying that someone who wants to taste south-indian dishes(authentic)must give it a try!

Radha Vilas has the Best Flavored Indian Food in Hiroshima with a serene focus on Traditional Tabemono with a kind hearted and warm serving people from the southern part of India. In addition You can enjoy the food with a traditional classical music of India. The music of Tabela is one of the best and my favorites at this serene place. Really You can have a wonderful and scintillating moment at this place with a soothing experience. You can view some fabulous traditional decorations too. I love to recommend this Vilas to anyone.
