R.Gerant
R. Gerant is has been renamed "le trouvere" and we imagine that it has been revamped and re-imagined in other ways too. We'd be surprised if owner Yamamoto hasn't come up with something equally as impressive, but we haven't checked it out yet. Watch this space...
Restaurant Gerant (Jeran) is a recent favorite in the category of delicious French food. The things I like about Gerant is that its cool but isn't at all fussy while the food is mouthwatering and the portion sizes are good.
The owner, Hiroyuki Yamamoto, has paid his dues over the last 6 years by working in GetHiroshima's favorite Italian and French restaurants (Mario's Trattoria, Bistro Aimee, Ca cent bon).
Yamamoto has created his own unique restaurant designed in cool white leather interior with a bright, open kitchen in the rear.
He has also added a DJ booth in the restaurant where on Fridays and Saturdays DJs spin while people eat, drink and enjoy the atmosphere.
The monthy specials are worth repeat visits- keep an eye out for the all-you-can drink Champagne deals, wine tasting parties and the many food and drink deals on offer.
Directions
Opposite the drinking area (Yagenbori/Nagaregawa) - heading toward Hakushima (away from the streetcar), follow the road past Bumbu Cafe & Mos Burger (on the left), take the second left (on the street in front of a 110 yen parking lot) and your will see the burgundy colored R.Gerant banners soonafter on the left side.
