Ujina Jusco Department Store

Located about 10 minutes by car coming from the city center, this is Jusco Department store's smaller development to open in Hiroshima (2004).

Although there are only two floors, there is a lot available in this AEON and JUSCO combination shopping center.

First Floor
Starbucks, Garden supplies, bicycle shop, electronic and home appliances, food court, ATM machine, bakery and a huge grocery store.

Second Floor
The second floor is completely carpeted and hosts a wide variety of shops including a small food court, clothing stores, music store, photo processing, travel agent, massage and tanning salon, hair salon, game center including a large kids play area and merry-go-round, a good variety of reasonably priced infant, toddler and kid products, shoes and clothes.

Overall this department store is easy to find and simple to navigate once you enter (only two floors), kid and wheelchair friendly, includes a lot of eating and drinking venues, has a good variety of stores with reasonably priced goods and has easy public access as well as lot of free parking.

  • 1,350 free parking spaces
  • kid and wheelchair friendly
  • Nearest streetcar and bus stop 5 minute walk away (Ujina 3 chome)
  • Designated smoking areas
  • Credit cards accepted
  • Take the "Ujina" tram from Hiroshima station for 20 minutes to "Ujina 3 chome" and ask someone "Okii Jusco wa doko desu ka?"

"The best." 5.0

If you are after excellent pricing and a very wide variety of retailers to choose from, this "plaza" is where you want to be. From Jusco itself, I often go the extra distance for excellent food prices - lots of sale items. Outside of food I have purchased 2 bikes, a Braun shaver, a Nano steam machine for the wife, etc. etc.from their department store. Listen folks, before I buy anything I get prices from everywhere than go to this Jusco last. They have not been beaten in prices yet. And, there are few if any Hiroshima born Oba-chan that can out shop this boy. NOTE: There are 2 Jusco stores in Ujina - one is quite old and very small in comparison closer to Midori Machi.

"great place with fewer crowds" 5.0

We love this Jusco department store! As noted, it has a lot of different things in the mall like a Starbucks, a good bookstore, a 100 yen shop, and other fast food and sit down restaurants. There is also a kids play area and also a little merry go round for the kids (although they tend to close at 6pm). We really have found that we prefer this to Diamond City. The Diamond City mall has a lot of different shops, but if you are just looking to go to a mall and get a few things and don't need all of the variety, it is very low-key, much less busy, and has easy access.
