Pagoda Under Lounge
Offering a great view of Alice Garden, a good sound system and lots of space, Pagoda has become a popular venue for club nights in Hiroshima. Even if you visit on non-club nights, it is a classy yet relaxing place to have a drink.
Open everyday of the year, this classy bar serves lunch from opening at 11:30 to 6pm. After 6pm you can also get a little more than the lunch set meal including salad, mini-soup and a dessert for a bit more than the lunch price.
The manager raved about their homemade apple pie which is really quite delicious. It is made in their small kitchen out of thin slices of apple layered on a flat pastry and served hot with ice-cream. It also comes with a cute, mini-pizza cutter to cut it with.
This is not a cheap place to have a few drinks, but if you are in the mood for a treat, the atmosphere and view is quite good. There is intimate seating for a few couples upstairs in a loft, or at private or semi-private tables along the window. There is also seating along the bar for 8 people. They have kept the middle open which suits their club nights well as some events have had more than 200 partyers come for the night.
The drink menu ranges from ¥600-¥1000 but there is also a seating charge which will be added to your bill. This includes a light dessert or snack and a cool towel to refresh served to you when you first sit down.
Keep an eye on the event section for upcoming DJ and club events at Pagoda.
