Hiroshima Dreamination

Peace Boulevard and parts of the city center will be illuminated with thousands of colored light bulbs to somewhat tasteless effect. We've expressed our reservations about these illumination before, but they are very popular. Little kids in particular seem to enjoy the "sculptures" and they might at least take their minds off the freezing temperatures for a few minutes.

This year there are 23 different theme areas and they boast that Dreamination beats the rest of Japan's illuminations in three respects: 2km of illuminations along Peace Boulevard, 120,000 bulbs and a 30m tall decorated tree.
