Sundance 2007

Treat yourself to a day of fun in the sun at the Sudance International Beach party. After a year off, Sundance returns to the very pretty and accessible Moon Beach Ganne on Etajima.

This time round, the party will have an even more international flavor than usual with Thai, Singapore, Latin, Middle Eastern and, of course, hip hop dance performances and food stalls offering all kinds of cuisine.

The popular beach volleyball tournament returns. There is room for eight four-person teams (¥5000 per team entry fee) and the top three teams will receive these prizes.

New this year is a Miss Sundance competition. All entrants get ¥1000 cash back on their ticket and whoever is crowned queen of the beach will receive ¥20,000 and a session at ASHAPOUL beauty salon. Bands on stage include Combo de la Paz, Afro Fire and an international line up of DJs and dance shows will keep the party pumping right up until the 6pm finish.

Moon Beach Ganne is one of the better looked after beaches in the area, making cooling off in the sea all the more pleasurable.

Ferries from Ujina to Mitaka Port run about every 30min and the last ferry back to Ujina is at 20:30. Shuttle buses will be making the 10 minute run between Mitaka Port and the party venue.

Kids up to 12 years old are free. Ages 4-12 must pay the approx ¥300 ferry fare for the ride between Ujina and Mitaka Port.
