Molly Malone’s

There are a couple of other “Irish” bars in Hiroshima, but Molly Malone’s is still, by far, the closest we have to the real thing.
Over the years, the management and staff have filled this fourth floor space in the heart of downtown Hiroshima with a genuine pub atmosphere to go along with the imported pub decor.

Molly’s has well and truly earned its status as the “local” of many international residents and Japanese customers too.

Cafe Appreciate

First floor cafe window seating An especially lovely little cafe when the cherry blossoms are in bloom, Cafe Appreciate is a quiet and romantic hideaway a few blocks over from the Peace park along the banks of the Tenmagawa river. 感謝 Kansha or “Being Thankful” is what the female owner says of her cafe’s concept. She hopes a visit to this cafe will help guests ‘appreciate’ life, friends, and a very pleasant place to enjoy a drink or some food- it’s a very suitable name for this handsome cafe.

Enjoint Bar Cover

cover Enjoint Bar Cover is the best micro club in town.

If your unfamiliar with Japan’s ‘shot-bars’ you’ll be more than a little surprised at the size of Cover. If you stick around a for a few drinks though, you’ll probably be equally surprised at the quality of the sound system in Cover. In fact there are probably a fair few clubs out there that don’t have one as good as the one you’ll find in Ton-san’s bar, particularly when nature calls and you pay a visit to the boom boom room. Ton has been refining the sound system over the years and on Fridays and Saturdays it gets pretty loud, but never painfully so.
