Namaste Indian and Nepalese Restaurant

The former chef from Spicy Bar Lal’s, Megh, has finally realized his dream to open his own place and bring excellent tasting food to the Hiroshima people.

Well, it isn’t the largest restaurant I’ve ever set foot in, but once you taste his curries and tandoor dishes, you will want to go back again and again.

Megh is a gifted chef whose talents help him create mouth-watering cuisine.

The restaurant opened on February 5th (2009) and has been slowly, but steadily building up a regular, dedicated clientele.

The Lunch menu at the moment has a Curry Rice Set for just under 700 yen through to the Deluxe Lunch set of extraordinary value (and flavor) for only just over 1,000 yen (Curry, Nan, Rice, Tandoori Chicken, Samosa, Papad, Salad and Lassi).

The Dinner menu is even more extensive with a wide selection of traditional Indian appetizers, curries, tandoori grilled meats, salads, rice dishes, and a wide variety of nan breads.

The Tandoori barbeque dishes include Garlic Chicken, Lamb Chops, and Mixed Grill but he can also offer fish dishes in curry sauce if you like instead of meat.

Chicken, Pork and Mutton curries will satisfy the meat lovers, whilst there are a variety of Seafood curries and a lot on offer for vegetarians (over 10 varieties of vegetarian curries).

The Vegatable Thali Set is a wonderful combination of curries, nan, rice and other dishes and the Namaste set is made to share with a friend if you are in the mood for a feast.

Megh is happy to cater for parties / dinners and will create a special menu for you on request. All-you-can drink deals can be added to any party course for 1,500 yen (for two hours).

Namaste is easy to find, being located almost directly opposite the Saty shopping center (with MyCal theatres) on the main road heading toward the University Hospital, route 2 or the Ujina port.
Look for it soon after the Hiroshima bank on the corner.

I simply love this place. Having spent several years in India, I know the authentic taste of north India. Mr. Megh has spent more than a decade in India in various top class restaurants and that made him a genuine Indian cuisine specialist. I strongly recommend you all to try his mouth watering menu.Though the space is small, hospitality is overwhelming.

The only best place for the best Nepali food in Hiroshima. Bit compermise with limited drink and cocktails and the space. It seems owner is ex-Spicy Bar's cook which I liked for Indian dishes.

I have known Megh-san for years now and have been going to his shop regularly. He is such a nice person to know that I feel like at home. If I have to tell you the truth, being a Nepali myself, I have enjoyed curry at this place so much that when I go back I will surely be missing it. I have tasted almost every single item from the menu already. It is like an adventure when you deviate a little from the regular curry-nan and try the other items from the menu and try to see which one matches your tongue. Wazawaza kedo, at times, I have asked him favor for cooking even Nepalese dishes that do not fit in the menu and he happily does them provided that I tell him well before hand. Last week only, I took a bunch of my friends at his place to introduce them my native dishes. He did it so well that I wish I can do it again. I am so frequent that if U go there, you may run across me :P

Megh really knows how to make a curry. I am so happy that he has opened his own place. His home made paneer is also delicious. I love the open kitchen and sitting at the counter.
