Koba
On the third floor of the Rego Building, tucked behind the Stussy shop on Namiki-dori, Koba is one of our favorite bars.
It's a place you'll always find a warm welcome no matter where you come from or what you're into, and one of the first places we'd recommend if you're in the mood for a drink, but have no one to accompany you.
Although it's fairly small the high ceilings and the use of mirrors and glass tables help create a feeling of space. The bar area seats about 20, and there's room for 10 more or so up in the loft area.
The owner, Bom, is an accomplished musician with incredibly varied tastes in music. Koba hosts occassional live shows, and sponsors some larger concerts in other venues in town. Koba also works well as a gallery space that aspiring artists looking for a space to show their work should consider.
Koba is also a wonderful place to eat, perhaps the best place to eat if you are veggie or vegan as there is a great choice and staff who will create something to suit you. Pasta dishes with savory or spicy sauce, Pizzas, curry dishes including a white mushroom curry- thick, rich and delicious. Tofu salad with a basil dressing and the popular original Koba curry and pizza.
