Alcoholiday is now closed

The Casablanca building on Nagarekawa is packed full of old school snack bars with the sounds of drunken middle-aged guys murdering enka songs on the karaoke machines, but when you see the polished steel door on the 3rd floor that takes you into Alcoholiday you know that this'll be different.

Greeted by the sounds of Eels on the system, and the smile of a large-breasted Richard D. James on the wall you know that you will be back.

Chie, who is just as comfortable speaking in English and Japanese, seems to be the consumate bar owner, and her relaxed friendliness adds warmth to the cool minimal decor - designed by the designer of hip cafe-bars Kyu and Kuu.

Beers which include Kirin, Corona and Bass are priced from ¥500 and the massive choice of cocktails are mostly ¥600. During the 21:00 - 22:30 happy hour there's ¥100 off all drinks. There are are also bar snacks and nibbles for ¥400.

went there last summer. cool place, cool bartender, take a group like 7 people or something, for a blast! sometimes it's randomly closed, in that case visit koba, bom-san and kenda-san cool cool guys

A must for any new Gaijin in the area or long term people just looking for another place to hang out. Great music selection too.

Whether Chie or Daisuke are choosing the tunes they will always be top notch. Very friendly, nice decor, go.

Nice bar, Chie's cool, music`s cool. The lights do this funny up and down thing (I think!!) If its busy it`ll be fun...
